Kunqu Opera is one of the oldest opera genres developed in sixteenth century China.  It is called “the Mother of Chinese Operas” because of its widely acknowledged aesthetic value. On 18 March 2001, UNESCO for the first time awarded the title of “Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” to 19 outstanding cultural spaces or forms of expression from the different regions of the world. Kunqu Opera was proclaimed as one among the list. The elementary course is for whom interested in learning how to sing and admire this art form.
